To support my conclusions, note that at the top of this service paper the spaces where the no........... and corp....................are entered were pre-stamped, but the number entered was later corrected. It would seem to make sense to me that, with the introduction of conscription in January 1916 and up untill the introduction of the "Training Reserve" units, introduced in September 1916, men would have been sent to regiments like the Cambridgeshires, as a matter of routine ,to become reservists. Hence the number change to the pre-stamped service paper which had now become outdated as had (I believe) the named corp, which was however left unchanged.
